Journeymen Acoustic Duo by Darryl Trombley
I wish to thank first and foremost our wives, Tracie and Karen for putting up with our addiction to music and our kids for the nights we've spent “working”.
Rick, I want to thank you. I have made a lot of music and almost every great moment I can recall, you were a part of it. Thank you for all the years you have been there.

We played for a combination Extended Family Christmas party and Farewell to Wolverine Golf Club. It was a very fun evening.
Rick played his new Breedlove guitar for this one.

The Oxford Tap gig was cancelled due to my Father having a heart attack.
Donald David Trombley died on February 7th. He was 89 years old.

Our first trip to the Oxford Tap in 2006. very sparse crowd when we arrived but the place filled up as the night went on. I played the Ovation along with the White Stratocaster and the Dobro through the Hot Rod Deluxe amp.
New Songs: Stand By Me (Completely unrehearsed. I just had it pop into my head and we played it.); Keep Me In Your Heart For A While - Warren Zevon (dedicated to my father)

We return to the Tap with new gear in hand and new songs on our play list. Rick rebuilt a Fender Telecaster that I fell in love with and promptly bought and Rick went from his Breedlove to his Taylor 6 string guitar. New songs are John Hiatt's Master of Disaster and I Ain't Goin Back No More. This was a Detroit Pistons Playoff night so we had to wait until about 10:30 pm to start playing. Good crowd though, too bad the Pistons lost. Rick's Son Eric who was home from being overseas for the Airforce for about 1 year was able to join us for this gig. This was the first he seen us as the Journeymen.

Our may 27th gig was cancelled due to it being a holiday weekend and the bars are typically dead. I purchased an 8 track recorder which we are hoping to begin working on recording a CD as a duo now. We'll see how creative we get.

The Scarab Club Garden Party was held on Saturday evening this year. We played for a couple sets and then turned things over to a DJ that ran Karaoke. This was the first attempt of recording a live gig with the 8 Track recorder. Unfortunatly due to being distracted at the end of our sets, I inadvertantly shut down the recorder improperly and erased the entire gig. Lesson learned!

In an attempt to get something recorded for promotional purposes I had a party at our house to have an audience to play to.
New Songs: Truckin by the Grateful Dead, Garden Party by Ricky Nelson, & Lay Down Sally by Eric Clapton. The recording came off very well and some of the songs from that performance are available for free on this website. Click here.

Another private party this time near Saint Clair MI. Very fun! We played outdoors under a tent at a place that can be best described as a farm. The crowd was very warm and responsive and we all a great time. Nothing new for this one. Just a good solid gig.
September 30th 2006
Conga Coffee. We played this one as another means of recording. More good material caught on hard drive.
New songs: Love You by Jack Ingram
November 10th 2006
Audition at Fritts American Bistro. This is the first bar we have played in Mt. Clemens since becoming the Journeymen. Great crowd! Rick and I would like to thank our friends from each of our respective companies as well as Tracie's friends that came out to see us. We were well received and asked to get something booked for December. Rick had some horrible hand cramping which prevented his playing a couple new tunes he had brought in, Gravity by Alison Krause and Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohen.
December 1st 2006
Fritts American Bistro. Small but energetic crowd. Rick and I were both sick leading up to this gig but with the help from my favorite physician Dr. Jack Daniels I was able to keep my voice within the realm of an American Idol audition.
New songs: Gravity by Alison Krause and Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohen.

Fritts American Bistro. With both of us sick leading into still we were a bit unsure but as always the right combination of spirts and enthusiasm we prevailed. Of course the fact that we had a great crowd to play to help emmensley! Rick had to get at least one more instrument purchase in before the end of the year. He showed off his new Fender short scale acoustic bass which sounded wonderful. I attempted to record teh show with my digital recorder and because it had been so long since I had used it, I forgot how to get it to record. Back to the wood shed to figure that out AGAIN!
New songs: Foolish Boy Blues, actually this one is very old, the second song I ever wrote as a matter of fact.
Thank you to all who have made it out to our performances through out 2006 and also to those who have invited us to entertain your guests around your camp fires.
A few individuals that I would like to especially thank for attending a lot of performances are Tracie, Dennis & Mary and Scott & Heather. It's you folks who challenge us to keep the show interesting and fresh or as close to it as we will ever get.
Stay well and may the end of 2007 find you even better off than the end of 2006.
